I returned to the movies last week to see Mel Gibson's thriller "Edge of Darkness." A large part of me was anxious to see it since I knew Gibson plays a Boston cop whose daughter is murdered in front of him. The British funnyman has received mixed reviews for his efforts hosting the glitzy awards show, after making a series of gags about stars in the audience. Actor/comedian Ricky Gervais promises to keep his Golden Globes monologue tasteful but won't be afraid of a little "gentle ribbing" at the expense of other major names.
