LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Natalie Cole has returned to the concert stage for first time since a successful kidney transplant.

The 59-year-old singer performed Wednesday night at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Cole had the surgery in May.

She received a standing ovation from the crowd as she walked onto the stage in a purple jewel-studded gown by designer Lloyd Klein.

NEW YORK (AP) - Natalie Cole is recovering at home after a successful kidney transplant.

Her spokeswoman, Maureen O'Connor, says Cole was released on Sunday from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. O'Connor says Cole, who had the kidney transplant surgery on May 18, is "doing quite well under the circumstances."

The 59-year-old singer underwent the operation immediately after learning that a donor organ had become available.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Natalie Cole's fans want to give her a kidney. The 59-year-old singer told Larry King on Tuesday that she was diagnosed with kidney failure, and while she was till on his CNN show, dozens of viewers wrote in offering to be tested as possible donors.

Without a donor kidney, Cole says she will be on dialysis for the rest of her life.
