Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - ‘Cop Out,’ ‘The Crazies’ & More
Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - Cop Out, The Crazies & MoreFriday I caught Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese's latest collaboration "Shutter Island." I was not blown away by it, but I did not think it was a terrible movie either. Since I have not read the novel on which it is based, I'm at a bit of a disadvantage to comment on whether it was a faithful adaptation; however as a thriller it kept me guessing for most of the film.

It does a good job of planting the seeds of doubt and conspiracy with you, as you start to piece together more...
Group Night On ‘American Idol’: Dysfunction, Bad Song Choices, & Some Good Things Too
Group Night On American Idol: Dysfunction, Bad Song Choices, & Some Good Things TooAh, it's group night on American Idol. Finally. Yes, I'm a sucker for group night. There's nothing quite like seeing a bunch of marginally talented people acting they're on the same plane as Lady Gaga and quickly turning on each other like a pack of self-absorbed jackals. This is the only real "reality show" drama we get all year on this show, and it's great fun every year.

This year was a little tamer than most, but there was still plenty there to whet the train wreck appetite more...
Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - ‘Dear John,’ ‘From Paris With Love,’ ‘Frozen’
Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - Dear John, From Paris With Love, FrozenI returned to the movies last week to see Mel Gibson's thriller "Edge of Darkness." A large part of me was anxious to see it since I knew Gibson plays a Boston cop whose daughter is murdered in front of him. As Gibson's character, Detective Thomas Craven, launches his own investigation into his daughter's untimely demise, he starts unraveling threads to a conspiracy involving big business and government in Massachusetts.

While this sounds like a promising plot that could be quite more...
“American Idol” fever spreads anew (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – There's a snap in the air and a new date on the calendar, which can only mean one thing: "American Idol" auditions! For tens of millions of viewers, it really is the most wonderful time of the year.

Sure, "Idol" is a bit full of its own importance: Tuesday night's episode opened with a montage summarizing judge Paula Abdul's departure and Ellen DeGeneres' hire, highlighted

NBC’s ‘Community’ Handles Jack Black And Other Guest Stars Well
NBCs Community Handles Jack Black And Other Guest Stars WellDuring all the NBC internet chatter this week, I couldn't wait for new episodes of scripted comedy. The Thursday lineup was loaded with guest stars, none bigger than Jack Black's appearance on Community, which says one if not two things: the show is underperforming ratings-wise, and A-list actors want to be a part of a comedy they enjoy watching.

The question is not how the Kung Fu Panda would interact with the tight ensemble cast, but how the show's producers would buck the tired more...
Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - ‘The White Ribbon,’ & More
Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - The White Ribbon, & MoreLast Monday I caught "Sherlock Holmes" in the theater, which turned out to be a very entertaining movie. Guy Ritchie presents a fresh take on Sherlock Holmes, portraying him as more of a cocky savant than a refined gentleman, but with Robert Downey Jr. playing Holmes, it works like a charm.

Jude Law plays a great Watson to Downey's Holmes, as a level headed roommate who makes the detective seem like an eccentric shut-in. Stylistically the film recreates Victorian England quite more...
Diane Sawyer To Leave ‘Good Morning America’ After This Week
Diane Sawyer To Leave Good Morning America After This WeekNEW YORK (AP) — Diane Sawyer says this week is her last as co-anchor of ABC's "Good Morning America" as she prepares to replace Charles Gibson on the network's "World News."

Gibson is retiring. His last broadcast as anchor on "World News" will be Dec. 18. Sawyer starts Dec. 21.

The 63-year-old Sawyer has been on "GMA" for 10 years. She says: "I've calculated — 2,881 shows. Roughly."

Sawyer made the announcement Monday. She says she hopes "GMA" more...
