
NEW YORK (AP) -- Jazz pianist and composer Hank Jones, whose 70-year career included a stint as Ella Fitzgerald's pianist and Marilyn Monroe's accompanist when she sang "Happy Birthday" to President John F. Kennedy, has died, his manager said Monday. He was 91.

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) -- Protesters outraged at an upcoming concert by R&B singer Akon hurled stones at a Sri Lankan private broadcaster's headquarters Monday, injuring four workers and damaging the building.

SALIDA, Calif. (AP) -- Officials with a California nonprofit group say former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has agreed to play the piano at a benefit concert to raise funds for a local school.
The Salida Performing Arts Foundation says the concert at a private residence March 27 will also include cellist Michael Reynolds and tenor Dennis McNeil.
Tickets cost $500 a person, or $5,000 for a table of eight.
