Tim Robbins and Peter Sarsgaard have joined the cast of Ryan Reynolds' comic book-to-movie adaptation of "The Green Lantern" - as father and son.

Robbins will play Senator Hammond in the new Martin Campbell film and Sarsgaard his villainous son, Dr. Hector Hammond.

Based on the DC Comics stories, filming will begin in New Orleans, Louisiana in March, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Reynolds will play Hal Jordan (aka The Green Lantern) in the movie.

During all the NBC internet chatter this week, I couldn't wait for new episodes of scripted comedy. The Thursday lineup was loaded with guest stars, none bigger than Jack Black's appearance on Community, which says one if not two things: the show is underperforming ratings-wise, and A-list actors want to be a part of a comedy they enjoy watching.

DANBURY, Conn. (AP) -- Mary Travers, one-third of the hugely popular 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died.

The band's publicist, Heather Lylis, says Travers died at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut on Wednesday. She was 72 and had battled leukemia for several years.

Travers joined forces with Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey in the early 1960s.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) -- Peter Gabriel, founder of the rock group Genesis, and Venezuelan composer Jose Antonio Abreu are sharing this year's Polar Music Prize.

The musicians received their awards, worth 1 million kronor ($141,300) each, at a ceremony in Stockholm on Monday. Both said they would like to work together.

Former Genesis singer Peter Gabriel has been awarded Sweden's prestigious Polar Music Prize.

The star shares the honor, which is handed out by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, with Venezuelan composer Jose Antonio Abreu.
