NEW YORK (AP) — An army of fans — more than 500,000 of them — went out to support Sade’s latest CD, “Soldier of Love,” giving the group their first No. 1 disc in 20 years.
“Soldier of Love” sold 501,665 units in its first week, debuting on top of the Billboard 200 album charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The CD is the follow-up to their Grammy-winning album “Lovers Rock,” released in 2000.
Soul star Robin Thicke is set to become a dad - his actress wife Paula Patton is pregnant with the couple’s first child. Publicists have confirmed the happy news just weeks after Patton told Giant magazine she had “stopped taking birth control” in an effort to get pregnant.

OAKLAND, California (Reuters) – Australian pop star Kylie Minogue kicked off her first-ever American tour with a driving disco beat, a bevy of well-muscled dancers, and a lot of leg, hoping to finally crack the lucrative U.S. market.
The pop diva, no stranger to spectacle, made her first appearance adorned in pink feathers as she was lowered onto the stage from a metallic skull.

LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK (Billboard) – Pearl Jam topped the U.S. pop album chart for the first time in 13 years on Wednesday, ending the two-week reign of rapper Jay-Z.
The veteran Seattle rockers sold 189,000 copies of their ninth studio album “Backspacer,” during the week ended September 27, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Actress Angie Everhart has welcomed her first child - and is thrilled with her “handsome” son.
The 39-year-old beauty gave birth to little Kayden Bobby Everhart on Friday via Caesarean section.
The star - who was engaged to Joe Pesci before they split last year - has become a single mum, and has still not revealed the name of the tot’s father.
