LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Organizers for last week's “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon, backed by George Clooney and Haiti-born rapper Wyclef Jean, on Monday raised the estimated amount of money it raised to more than $61 million, to date.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Avatar” dominates the box office again with a $36 million weekend.
No. 1 for the sixth-straight weekend, James Cameron’s sci-fi spectacle lifted its domestic total to $552.8 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Worldwide, 20th Century Fox’s “Avatar” raised its total to $1.840 billion, just $2 million shy of first place behind Cameron’s last movie, the 1997 shipwreck blockbuster “Titanic,” at $1.843 billion.

Wyclef teamed up with “Give On The Go,” a fundraising division of Red Fish Media.

NEW YORK (AP) — The company behind Sean “Diddy” Combs’ clothing line says it has a looming problem at its flagship New York City store — a scaffold that has been hanging over the shop for more than three years.
The company behind the rap impresario’s Sean John label sued its Manhattan landlord on Wednesday.
The company, Christian Casey LLC, says the scaffold obscures the Fifth Avenue store’s window displays, discouraging shoppers and cutting revenue in half.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Vampires and werewolves continued to howl at the box office with a $42.5 million weekend for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
Summit Entertainment’s “Twilight” sequel remained No. 1 over what proved a record Thanksgiving weekend for Hollywood. But “New Moon” was nearly blind-sided for the top spot by a real-life football drama.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Jon Gosselin has filed a counter lawsuit against the TLC network, claiming television producers violated Pennsylvania’s child labor laws in filming the hit reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ and are preventing him from working.
The suit seeks more than $5 million in damages. It was filed Thursday in Maryland in response to a network lawsuit alleging Gosselin failed to meet his obligations as an employee.

Eddie Murphy is suffering in the global economic downturn - he’s been forced to slash the asking price for his home by $15 million.
The star put his New Jersey estate on the market almost five years ago, with a price tag of $30 million. The property, which boasts a bowling alley, theatre and recording studio, failed to sell - and the price has now been cut by half, according to the New York Daily News.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Nearly 40 years after breaking up, The Beatles are still breaking records for album sales.
EMI Group PLC says consumers in North America, Japan and the U.K. bought more than 2.25 million copies of the Fab Four’s re-mastered albums in the first five days after their Sept. 9 release.
Most of the records were broken for most simultaneous titles in the top-selling charts by a single artist.

HAMPTON, Va. – Some Phish fans are leaving Hampton a little lighter than when they arrived for the band’s weekend reunion.
Police said Monday they confiscated about $1.2 million in illegal drugs and more than $68,000 in cash from concertgoers. Authorities also arrested 194 Phish fans during the three-night celebration of the band’s return to the stage after a nearly five-year absence.
