Leonard Cohen delays Europe tour after back injury (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen has postponed an upcoming European tour by six months after hurting his lower back while exercising, his representatives said Friday.

A statement said his doctors advised the 75-year-old to follow the same four- to six-month regimen of physical therapy as athletes do with similar injuries.

Wilco extends 2010 tour plans (Reuters)

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) – Wilco, the celebrated Chicago-based roots-rock band whose latest album is nominated for a Grammy award, announced Monday a 16-date East Coast tour kicking off March 22.

Cuba’s “Rolling Stones of salsa” set for U.S. tour (Reuters)

HAVANA (Reuters) – Grammy-winning Cuban band Los Van Van are celebrating 40 years of salsa revolution with a long-awaited return to the United States.

Often called the 'Rolling Stones of salsa', the group will perform in Key West, Florida on January 28, ending a long absence from the United States caused by tense U.S.-Cuban relations during the administration of President George W. Bush.

Officials: Marijuana on Lil Wayne tour buses

FALFURRIAS, Texas (AP) — Rapper Lil Wayne and 11 people traveling with him were briefly detained Friday night after U.S. Border Patrol officers found marijuana on two of his tour buses, authorities said.

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, and the others were questioned and released, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the case was referred to the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office.

Sniffer Dogs Uncover Marijuana On Lil Waynes Tour BusesRapper Lil Wayne and his entourage have been detained by Texas border police after authorities discovered marijuana on two of his tour buses.

A Border Patrol agent has revealed sniffer dogs uncovered a stash of weed during a random search of the vehicles on Friday.

Wayne and 11 members of his posse were detained in Falfurrias.

According to TMZ.com, no arrests have been made.

Rock band Bon Jovi announces new world tour (AP)

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Rock band Bon Jovi announced plans Thursday for a new world tour that will swing by the new home of the New York Giants and Jets.

The two-year tour begins Feb. 19 in Seattle and includes a May 26 show at New Jersey’s new $1.6 billion Meadowlands football stadium, which will be home to the New York Giants and Jets. It will feature 135 shows in 30 countries.

Def Leppard cancels third leg of tour

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Rock band Def Leppard has canceled the final leg of its North American tour.

The band said in a statement on its Web site that it canceled 23 shows in the U.S. and Canada “due to unforeseen personal matters.” The last leg of the tour was to start Oct. 22 in Reno, Nevada, and wrap up Nov. 28 in Beaumont, Texas.

The band said it “agonized over this decision.”
